The modular system of the com.oonics Enterprise IT Platform 
Within the com.oonics Enterprise IT Platform all servers in the cluster have direct access to the storage devices and are able to both read and write to them concurrently. A cluster file system connects application servers to a linked storage network (Storage Area Network - SAN) and allows parallel access from all cluster nodes to a central storage system. The unique concept of the com.oonics Enterprise IT Platform is that all cluster nodes go without any hard disk and boot directly from the storage network and even share the system data.
Servers with the same tasks are logically summarized to clusters within the com.oonics Enterprise IT Platform. But the allocation is flexible and can be changed at any time. Thus e. g. data base servers (blue) can be converted into web servers (yellow) by restarting, to react on load peaks for example.
Furthermore any copies of an installation can be automatically created and saved within a short time, e. g. to create test, development and production environments. com.oonics is also used for rolling updates (software updates without interruption), this functionality however has to be supported by the cluster and the Linux operating system.

The com.oonics Sharedroot Cluster is a Single System Image Cluster for high availability and high performance applications scalable due to the 'pay as grow' principle.
With com.oonics Flex Boot an existing operating system installation on base of com.oonics is able to run on different hardware (e. g. IBM, HP etc.) as well as different virtualization platforms (e. g. VMware, XEN, KVM, etc.) without any changes and migration effort.
The com.oonics Grayhead is a central monitoring and management application for pro active and reactive monitoring of the whole infrastructure.
The com.oonics Enterprise Copy is a cluster or single server cloning framework for creating local or remote shadow installations for test systems, disaster recovery concepts or roll our scenarios. The framework is integrable into established enterprise backup and storage solutions.
